Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our outpatient Primary Care Physician, you will join a growing, physician-led practice at Dignity Health Medical Group - Merced , playing a pivotal role in the continued success, design, and development of our regional comprehensive health service line.
You will provide expert outpatient clinical care to patients within the community, focusing on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and acute care interventions. You will also contribute significantly to shaping a robust, patient-centered care network in a highly collaborative environment.
To be successful in this role, you will be a BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician with a passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse community, strong clinical and diagnostic skills, and a commitment to building a premier medical home within a supportive, mission-driven environment. This opportunity is structured to support an excellent work-life balance, offering a predictable Monday through Friday schedule with no hospital inpatient call constraints.
- Deliver comprehensive outpatient (only) primary care services, including routine wellness exams, preventative screenings, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
- Formulate and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans while monitoring patient health outcomes over time.
- Partner and collaborate cross-functionally with a dedicated network of local medical specialists, nurse practitioners, and regional clinical leaders to optimize patient care pathways.
- Educate patients and their families on wellness strategies, lifestyle modifications, and chronic condition self-management to promote long-term health.
We are offering the following incentives to eligible new hires:
- Annual base salary ($275,000 - $300,000/year) plus productivity-based incentives
- Signing bonus and relocation assistance
- 100% employer-paid medical and dental insurance for you and your family
- Monday through Friday schedule with shared telephone call responsibilities and no hospital inpatient call constraints
- Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility, an employer-sponsored pension plan, and annual CME allowance
Job Requirements
Required
- MD or DO degree, Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine (ABMS or AOA)
- Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA certification
- Passion for primary care with experience in preventive medicine and chronic disease management and minor office procedures
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
