Applications are now being accepted for an outstanding physician leader to serve as Program Director of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program within a large, physician-led, nonprofit healthcare system in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

The incoming Program Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for the residency program while ensuring continued excellence in ACGME accreditation, resident education, faculty development, and scholarly activity. Candidates may maintain either an ambulatory-focused internal medicine practice or a hospitalist/inpatient-focused practice, depending on individual interests and expertise.

Physicians who have completed an ABIM-recognized Internal Medicine subspecialty fellowship and have maintained their Internal Medicine board certification are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
- Maintain compliance with all ACGME Institutional and Program Requirements.
- Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and develop residents and teaching faculty.
- Oversee curriculum development, resident assessment, quality improvement initiatives, and scholarly activity.
- Participate in undergraduate medical education and partner with Internal Medicine Clerkship Directors to create a seamless educational experience across the continuum of medical education.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, wellness, diversity, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with institutional and departmental leadership to advance graduate medical education initiatives.
Qualifications
- MD or DO.
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
- General Internists and physicians with ABIM-recognized Internal Medicine subspecialty certification who maintain Internal Medicine board certification are encouraged to apply.
- Eligible for unrestricted Arizona medical licensure.
- Meets ACGME qualifications for appointment as an Internal Medicine Residency Program Director, including a minimum of five years of experience as a core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program or Internal Medicine subspecialty fellowship program.
- Current or previous Program Director experience preferred. Associate Program Directors and experienced core faculty who are ready to assume a Program Director role are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, medical education, curriculum development, resident mentorship, faculty development, and scholarly activity.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative leadership skills.
