Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Hematology Oncology Physician, you will join our dynamic healthcare team in Tacoma on the campus of St. Joseph Medical Center. Candidates should be interested in growing our newly established practice, while forming good relationships with our existing employed physician referral network. As part of our team, you will work alongside local and regional cancer care specialists, all dedicated to improving quality, enhancing patient experience, and advancing clinical standards for those we serve.
Every day you will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of patients and their families within Franciscan Medical Group.
To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified, and compassionate Hematology Oncologist, possessing expertise in diagnosing and managing complex diseases, alongside strong communication abilities. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of new patients
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide ongoing management and follow-up care for patients with a wide variety of hematology and oncology diseases.
- Offer guidance and support to patients and families regarding educational resources and community services
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to care
- Stay current with research and best practices in both Hematology and Oncology to provide evidence-based care
- Participate in community outreach and education initiatives to promote awareness of cancer care and blood disorder issues
We are offering a guaranteed starting salary followed by a wRVU model, a starting bonus, and relocation assistance. Retirement plans include both 401(k) and 457(b).
Job Requirements
Required
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
- Active Washington State Medical License, or eligible for licensure
- Strong clinical skills and experience with both hematology and oncology patients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to all patients and families
Preferred
- 2+ years experience following training
