Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesSaint Joseph Medical Group, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterology physician to join our growing team in Lexington, Kentucky as a G.I. Hospitalist.
This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who is looking for a collaborative medical staff, a strong regional referral network, meaningful community impact, and the stability of an employed position with one of the nation's largest nonprofit health systems.

Opportunity Highlights
The incoming physician can expect:
- Practice type: 100% inpatient
- Schedule: 7 on 7 off schedule
- Patient volume: Average volume of 5-10 new consults and 15-25 census
- Support staff: Four APPs support the G.I. Hospitalists with consults, rounding and scopes, EUS/Advanced support
- Clinic/hospital setting: Hospital-based GI opportunity serving patients in Lexington and the surrounding Central Kentucky region
- EMR: Epic

Final compensation and recruitment incentives will be discussed directly with qualified candidates and may vary based on experience, training, location, and specialty.
Job Requirements
Qualified candidates should have:
- MD or DO degree
- Board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
- DEA license or eligibility
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care
- Interest in serving the needs of patients throughout Lexington, Central Kentucky, and the broader CHI Saint Joseph Health service area
- Open to new graduates

CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group - Gastroenterology provides care for patients with diseases and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. The Lexington gastroenterology team offers digestive health services including colon cancer screening and advanced, minimally invasive procedures, with clinic locations in Lexington on Harrodsburg Road and North Eagle Creek Drive.
