Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our Gastroenterology Hospitalist, you will join our dynamic healthcare team in Lakewood, WA specializing in diagnosing and treating a wide array of Gastroenterology cases, making a significant impact on their lives and families. You will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of our patients and their families within Franciscan Medical Group.
To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified, and compassionate GI Hospitalist, possessing expertise in diagnosing and managing complex Gastroenterology, alongside strong communication abilities. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment.
- Franciscan Digestive Care Associates, part of The Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is recruiting a BC/BE gastroenterologist hospitalist to practice in Lakewood, WA.
- Our group of over 80 clinicians in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery provide over 76,000 clinic visits, 55,000 endoscopic procedures and 9,000 surgeries annually across Virginia Mason Franciscan Health locations.
- The center is founded on providing the best possible clinical outcomes to the patients it serves with additional focus on innovation through research as well as training the next generation of experts and leaders in the field.
- Infrastructure includes a clinical research and analytics team, in addition to academic support. Several clinical and research fellowships are housed within the center and clinicians are engaged as faculty in training medical and surgical residents.
- This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collegial, multidisciplinary care environment with superb support staff. We pride ourselves in practicing high quality, evidence based, and patient centered medicine.
- The ideal candidate will be an exceptional clinician with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.
- The schedule includes one week on and one week off. Hours are 7a - 5p on weekdays with one night call per month. Weekdays include covering 2 hospitals and weekend coverage is 1-2 hospitals. Weekends include Friday 5p - Monday 7a.
- Generally, there are 23 weekday blocks and 23 weekend blocks. APP support on the weekdays.

- Compensation is based on a salary of $597,408.00.
Job Requirements
Required
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Active or eligible license in the state of Washington
- Strong clinical skills with experience in general Gastroenterology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
