Nocturnist – Hospital Medicine Duke University Hospital | Durham, North Carolina
Duke University Hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join our nationally recognized Hospital Medicine team as a Nocturnist. Nocturnists are clinicians and/or clinician educators who provide clinical care for patients admitted at Duke University Health System hospitals, support surgical and specialty services through consultative general internal medicine practice, and teach staff, graduate medical trainees, and medical students on inpatient educational rotations. This role will be based at our Duke main academic medical center, which is a 1,000+ bed tertiary and quaternary care facility consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the United States and offers access to cutting-edge clinical programs, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Position Highlights
Provide overnight care for hospitalized adult patients at our main campus
Collaborate closely with specialists, consultants, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary care teams
Participate in admissions, cross-coverage, patient management, and transitions of care
Academic environment with opportunities for teaching residents and medical students

Candidate Qualifications
MD or DO degree
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in North Carolina
