As a Family Medicine/Intenal Medicine Physician in London, KY, you will provide comprehensive healthcare to patients of all ages, including preventative care, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, managing chronic conditions, and referring patients to specialists when necessary, essentially acting as the primary healthcare provider for individuals and families across the lifespan.
Every day, you will apply your broad medical expertise to address a wide range of health concerns, fostering long-term relationships with your patients and guiding them through their healthcare journey. This involves meticulous assessment, thoughtful treatment planning, and effective communication to ensure holistic and continuous care.
To be successful in your role, you will strategically deliver comprehensive primary healthcare to patients across all age groups, serving as their primary healthcare provider throughout their lifespan. You will demonstrate exceptional medical expertise in preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses, actively managing chronic conditions, and making appropriate specialist referrals, all while fostering patient well-being and promoting health across individuals and families.
Highlights of this role:
Provide full-spectrum primary care, including preventive care, acute illness treatment, and management of chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes, hypertension) for patients of all ages
Deliver wellness examinations, health screenings, and immunizations to support disease prevention
Counsel patients on diet, lifestyle choices, and disease management
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory work and imaging
Offer guidance, counseling, and education on wellness, disease management, and medication adherence to patients and their families
Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed medical records, utilizing EPIC appropriately
Provide and document direct treatment for patients, including ordering medications, referrals, and following up on specialist consultations
Participate in primary care division activities, including peer review programs, quality metric improvement, and policy development
