Medical Director, Home Hospital Program - NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island
Location: Western Nassau County, NY
NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island, a 591-bed university-affiliated medical center and American College of Surgeons (ACS) Level 1 Trauma Center, is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Internists to join our dynamic team of academic hospitalists.
Visionary and dynamic Medical Director to lead its innovative Home Hospital Program in Mineola. This transformative care model delivers inpatient-level hospital services to eligible patients in the comfort and safety of their homes, enhancing clinical outcomes and patient experience while supporting organizational goals around capacity management and access to care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the physician leader for the Home Hospital, guiding clinical strategy and operational excellence.
- Oversee physicians in the virtual command center to ensure high-quality, patient-centered virtual inpatient care.
- Drive innovation in clinical best practices and virtual care delivery.
- Lead interdisciplinary collaboration across departments including nursing, pharmacy, IT, and administrative teams.
- Monitor and improve performance metrics related to clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO with board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or a related specialty.
- Active New York State medical license (or eligibility).
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in virtual care delivery, hospital medicine, or home-based care models preferred.
- Strong strategic planning, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
- Passion for innovation, patient-centered care, and healthcare transformation.

Salary starts at $250k for new graduates
