is looking for an Associate Chief Medical Officer to serve as a pivotal member of the management team of Upstate University Hospital and provide assistance to the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer on all medical affairs and quality related issues. As Associate Medical Director of the medical staff, he/she facilitates and evaluates the effectiveness of medical staff in the delivery of quality care and assures compliance with mandated standards of care, medical staff by-laws, accrediting bodies and applicable county, state and federal law and regulations. He/she will serve as the lead physician voice of the UUH Community campus where he/she will work together with Administration and Nursing leadership to promote excellence in patient care. In addition, the role will include cross-campus, project leadership in promotion of new programs related to quality, inpatient and clinical growth within the organization.

MBA or MHA preferred. Experience with organized Medical Staff, Quality Improvement, Outcomes Management, or Utilization Review programs preferred. Knowledge of hospital accreditation standards, Medicaid and Medicare regulations (PRO) including Stark and Office of the Inspector General (OIG) regulations, and NYS Department of Health regulations highly desirable. Previous leadership roles on medically-related boards and/or county, state and national professional societies highly desirable.
